When you say an animal has a predatory lifestyle, does that mean they are the prey? or the hunter? or both?

im writing this report on the mink and the question is "what observable characteristics provide evidence of the predatory lifestyle of the mink" ... so i need to know what that means so i don't write the wrong thing XD
