Can you pack a sandwich with deli meat in a brown bag lunch?

I want to pack my lunch for school, but is it safe to pack a sandwich with deli meats in it with no type of cooler and the only source of refrigeration being the other cool items? I don't want to pack something that will make me sick at school.
