Does anyone have any information on birth marks?

Our son was just born on Thanksgiving and he has a birth mark above his left eye. since it is over the eye an Ophthalmologist was called in who is calling this a Port Wine Stain (never goes away) while the Pediatrician thinks it is a Stork Bite since it blanches. Anyone had a similar experience?
