At what point did you sign over your opinion to network news to determine the mainstream "normal" view?

I watch nonetwork or cable new. Not Fox or CNN or MSNBC. To annoying...too many commercial. I do get the WSJ, the local paper & read Yahoo & Google headlines. & lotsa other stuff.....like BOOKS. Remember them?
